i got my first turntables in the spring of 2000 and started playing happy hardcore and jungle at raves later that year. now i play bassline house, oldskool rave, breakbeat hardcore, jungle, oldskool rotterdam gabber, rave breaks, funky breaks, a bit of dubstep and pretty much anything inspired by the frantic sounds of early 90s uk rave. i make my own music too and my tracks have been played around the world and been remixed by top names in hardcore like deluxe, dok & uplift. i am one half of the dork knights with dj saiyan (we play hardcore and dnb). i am also available for sets with mizz lee (jungle & dnb) and robotpilot (breakcore, epic miscellany)
i have played for hullabaloo, goodfellaz, nocturnal commissions, embedded, and most finer rave organizations in southern ontario & western new york (including the main hardcore stage at every wemf from 2002 till the final wemf in 2009). also, i have promoted hardcore dance music in toronto through my airhead rave and club events.
i went by mannik5000 for a while because a drum and bass tag team duo started showing up on flyers called maniak and saigon and people kept confusing them with mannik and saiyan, so i put on the 5000 for some reason. i kind of stole it from a robot on futurama. doent seem to be an issue anymore and i got bored of it so im back to mannik. whatever.i will update this later
